In this work we were asked to determine effects of ticket reservation posts on the platform on passenger flows. Three platforms from three different stations were simulated, Amsterdam, Rotterdam and the Schiphol Airport. The client NS Hispeed train company needed to determine the best locations and the adequate quantity of ticket reservation posts in these platforms that would not incur in large disturbances in the operations. For that we simulated the boarding and alighting processes with several locations and quantities of the reservation posts.
